Microsoft Edge has the built-in ability to securely check a user's saved passwords against passwords that are known to be compromised and alerts them if a match is found. However, Chrome has a limitation that you cannot import password though you can export to a CSV file. It is really powerful that you do not any third-party extensions for password management anymore. One of the ways the algorithm protects your data is by allowing a computer to interact with it without first decrypting the information. The latest Chromium based Edge has similar password management capabilities like Google Chrome browser. However, what makes Microsoft’s offering intriguing then is that it’s using a relatively new type of approach called homomorphic encryption to ensure no one at the company, nor any other party, can find out your passwords. Both Chrome and Firefox have offered similar functionality for the past few years, as have Password managers like 1Password and LastPass. Even if the sync is already enabled, ensure the passwords synchronization is enabled. Turn on the toggle for Passwords and then click Confirm. Click on Turn on sync if its already off.
