If your device has a network connection (wireless or wired), there is a great chance it is supported. But it also requires a special container format (I guess). Well, I thought the problem was that it requires to specify codecs. b) The file might have been encoded by using a codec that is not supported by Windows Media Player. Also, there are a few supported Blu-Ray Players. I thought if the browser can show a part of the video during downloading (even without specifying of the codecs), then I can emulate the same behaviour with MediaSource (I want to download videos with fetch). You might encounter this error message for one of the following reasons: a) The file type is supported by the Player, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the Player. Fortunately, most of the new TVs are working with SofaPlay. IMPORTANT: SofaPlay is working with devices, which are supporting the UPnP/DLNA Digital Media Renderer standard. And the Video codecs are very limited: H.264, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, VC-1, Windows Media Video, DV. I have to say that the logic tree points to the newer version. You shall look at Azure Media Encoder formats and codecs, but not the Microsoft Expression Encoder supported file formats. I am using windows 11 andboth files are MP4s with VLC as the player. Just lean back on your sofa, get some pop-corn and enjoy a movie, or two. Works fine on both of our computers but on 1 of our tvs it plays the music but no video & the other tv says 'video codec not supported' and stops. Your Mac is completely controlling and managing your TV and taking care of the streaming. Check the Download codes automatically option, and click OK to proceed.
